Corner Thoughts
“ Little Doodles”
I sat in class. The sunlight that day was too beautiful to focus on the book filled with numbers and letters.
Instead, I drew a little flower, a cloud, a sleepy cat, jumping rabbits, a missing shoe, the key I always wore around my neck, the thick glasses I have worn since I was nine years old, hearts, and little human figures.
These small, unfiltered thoughts stayed in the corners of my books.
They created a tiny room where I could quietly feel, “I’m okay.”
One gloomy and busy day, I walked down the street with anxious and heavy footsteps.
At a corner, I stopped and noticed little doodles and notes left on the wall.
I smiled.
I felt that these little thoughts were comforting me.
I hope the small gestures I create can give people a moment to walk a little more slowly,
and take them somewhere gentle—like having a siesta on a sunny afternoon.
Brooklyn,
on a sudden spring day,
Hanna
‘Little Doodle’ is an ongoing series inspired by playful doodles made on the edge of paper or the corner of a wall. Each piece combines vintage stones, crystal rhinestones, puzzle pieces, and tiny toys with resin and air-dry clay to create sculptural forms.
